Spiritual Meditation 4

Matthew 25:41-46 Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Some of you know I belong to many veteran Organizations.  I have in the past given much money to veterans organizations and to different charities.  Churches, MS, Miracle Network, SGK Cancer, etc…the list is endless.  I think I am finished with all these pretend charities and veterans organizations.

What good are all these charities and veterans organizations if they do not help people?  You can not even pretend that you are a Christian or Christian organization if you do not believe in helping your community.  The reason there is welfare in this country is that the church has failed to do what Christ has called it to do.  If every Church had a soup kitchen or food pantry there would be no hunger in America.  If every Church had a homeless shelter there would be no homeless in America.  If every Church took care of the sick no one in America would die because they did not have money.

The simple fact is there are many people who know Jesus, but Jesus knows very few of them.

Bonhoeffer

This biography is extremely well-written, thoroughly researched, and completely documented. His total discipleship to God is exemplified by the fact that the testimony of this mere man serves as an inspiration more than 60 years after his murder at the hands of the Nazis.

His beloved church would become the unholy arm of an evil state.  Converted Jews were not allowed in Seminary, nor to be ordained, those that were, were not allowed to preach, and they were no longer allowed to attend church services.  His own twin sister, who had married a converted jew. was forced to flee to England.

He started the Confessing church and his own illegal seminary.  knowing his own life was in danger work was secured for him in America, but after a few weeks he gave up his security in America to help the true Christians (and unbelievers) in Germany.

He became involved in the plots to kill Hitler.  After three failed attempts he was arrested, along with several family members.  He spent almost two years in different prisons.  He was finally murdered at Flossenburg concentration camp just three weeks before the war’s end and his body was burned.

How can such a devote man plot to kill another human being?  From his own writings, he believed following God’s will was more important than being guiltless of sin.

The VA and its’ Issues

This is more of a personal blog, but also a reflection on the political climate. Politicians tell us they care about veterans but spend more than 50% of the national budget on the military without consideration for increasing the Veterans Administration budget to account for the increase in the number of disabled veterans.

22 Veterans a day commit suicide

65% of all bankruptcies in the US are because of medical expenses.

Before 2009 the VA used the emergent standard for a vet to go to the ER. Meaning it had to be life-threatening in the eyes of a physician in order for expenses to be covered.

Beginning in 2009 the VA started using the prudent layperson standard. Meaning if a prudent layperson would go to the ER a vet should go and it should be covered.

Now in 2013, I hurt my back. The pain was so bad I was vomiting and couldn’t move or drive. My wife drove me to the ER. Now using the prudent layperson standard you would think the VA would cover it. No, my claim was denied because there was a VA 60 miles away I could have gone to.

Now, I appealed the claim and stated they misapplied the prudent layperson standard. Again I was denied and they cited a memorandum they used. They then denied me a copy of the memorandum. I had to file a freedom of information request to Washington DC to get a copy. The memo stated that the prudent standard was to be applied.

After a second appeal, was denied, I was finally able to get my case before a law judge with the Veterans Board of Appeals. This took five years. I did not get to the VBA until 2018.

Today, four years later, the VBA finally decided in my favor. A total of nine years for one ER bill to get paid under the law that said it should have been paid in the first place.

Now you understand why veterans give up, the VA denies until you stop. Maybe the hospital files against you and you have to declare bankruptcy. The simple fact is that nine years is too long for one bill and vets go through this every day for disability claims and hospital bills.

Now you know why 22 veterans a day commit suicide.

Spiritual Meditation 3

And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.
-Ezekiel 22:30

In ancient times cities were surrounded by walls if a breach in the walls was created by an enemy the only way to fend off the invaders was to literally stand in the breach and fight off the enemy.

God himself sought for someone to stand in the breach against the enemy. He found none. The two saddest words in the English language are “No Hope”. Stand in the breach people, don’t let God ever again say, “I found none.”

Getting Started

So I have been told many ways to get started. Here is what I found.

  • Buy my course
  • Buy our ads
  • Buy our affiliate program
  • Pay for our lead

All of these things sound like good ideas. The problem is that as a freelancer your work should speak for itself. Traffic should be driven to your website because you are good and in demand.

Generalist Freelancer

I am considered a generalist freelancer. That’s because I do not specialize in a niche market. I am available to write and create business documents and research almost any topic. I am available to proofread and format papers.

I can verify resources, and make sure those resources are authoritative sources. I can format resources in APA 7th edition style and format in-text citations.

Spiritual Meditation 2

No More Song

Psalm 137:1-4 (ESV)
By the waters of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion. On the willows there we hung up our lyres. For there our captors required of us songs, and our tormentors, mirth, saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!” How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a foreign land?

When the Israelites were taken into captivity their captors wanted them to sing songs of Zion. The Israelites wept and they hung their harps (lyres) because there was no more song in their hearts.

Many people are in captivity of their own making (or oppressed by others). They weep and there is no more song in their hearts. Remember, don’t allow your own vices or what others do to you to remove the song, praise, and happiness from your heart.

Ron’s Blog

What’s Going On Here?

I am a 100% disabled veteran (U.S. Army). I have been a professional businessman for over 14 years. I retired two years ago. I’ve found that retirement is not all it’s cracked up to be.

In the last year, I have tried to find a job that uses my professional experience in a meaningful way. It turns out that experience and education do not count for much in the hiring process.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to start a third business in order to keep busy. I will be doing what I love. I am freelance writing and making resumes, business documents, research essays, and essentially anything you can think of for business or personal needs.

As time progresses I will be adding to my portfolio and putting up free templates. Keep checking back as my blog will be updated often.

Spiritual Meditation 1

He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?

                      Micah 6:8

Have you ever wondered about the meaning of life? Well God laid it out for you. Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God.

If you really think about this, God is telling you to do justice. Do what is right all the time. Even if it is hard to do right, even if it hurts you do what is right.

Love kindness. Just because you are justified in your actions. Maybe you have been hurt or used or taken advantage of, does not mean you have to act on that type of justice. Love kindness, “be ye kind one to another”.

Walk humbly with your God. We know we are children of God. We know God loves us and changed our lives. That does not mean that we are better than any criminal or any other sinner. We need to be humble in walking with God
